Access data (server log files)

When this website is accessed, the hosting provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files. This may include browser type and version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing device, time of the server request and IP address. Processing serves the technical provision of the website, ensures stable operation and helps detect misuse.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in technically providing and securing the web offering). Data is usually deleted after a few days unless longer storage is required for evidentiary purposes. Please refer to your hosting provider's privacy policy for details on log files. [Add hoster name and privacy policy link]

Contact

If you contact us by email, the data you provide (e.g. email address, content of your message) will be processed to handle your request and may be stored in case of follow-up questions. Legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual communication), or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in handling general inquiries). Data is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose, unless legal retention obligations apply.

External content and services

This website loads scripts from unpkg.com (Lucide Icons) to display icons. For technical reasons, data (e.g. IP address) may be transmitted to that provider. Links on this website also point to services such as GitHub and Buy Me a Coffee; their own privacy policies apply there.

When you follow external links, you leave our website. The respective providers are responsible for data processing on their sites.

Local storage (browser)

The Docspell Viewer landing page (`docspell.html`) may use browser localStorage to save technical preferences, such as the collapsed sidebar state. This storage happens on your device only; no personal profiling is created. You can clear this data in your browser settings at any time.

Note on the Docspell Viewer app

The Android app Docspell Viewer connects to your Docspell server and processes documents and metadata stored there on your device (display, offline storage, favorites). The detailed privacy notice for the app is available in the app (Settings -> Privacy) and on GitHub. This website itself does not store Docspell documents or login credentials.

No automated decision-making / profiling

No automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

Your rights

Subject to legal requirements, you have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), and data portability (Art. 20 GDPR). You also have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).

If processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR).

Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the member state of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
