Android app to read and search documents on your own Docspell server – clear, offline-capable and ready for on the go.
Docspell Viewer connects to your Docspell server via the REST API. You search documents, read PDFs, play audio attachments and mark favorites – all in a lean Android app. The app is read-only: uploads and metadata editing stay on the server.
Requirements: Android 8.0 (API 26) or higher, a reachable Docspell server
(https://<host>/api/v1/) and local account login (collective/user +
password). Servers that use OIDC/OAuth only are not yet supported in version 1.0.0.
Docspell Viewer focuses on what you need most on mobile: find, read, save.

Detail view with built-in PDF viewer, audio playback and download of attachments directly from the document.
Save documents locally on your device and access them without a network connection. Manage your offline list in its own tab.
Mark important documents as favorites and find them collected in a dedicated list.
Filter by tags, organisation, correspondent, category, custom fields and more. You can easily configure which filters to use in the settings.
Any number of Docspell accounts with their own server URL. Offline data, favorites and settings are kept separate per account.
Language, color scheme, dark mode, start page, table size, detail fields and cache management.
Supported languages are German and English.
